Surin Beach is a hidden gem of all the beaches in Phuket. It is especially popular among local expatriates all year around.
Surin - a hidden gem
Surin Beach is a very relaxed and quiet beach - a rather undeveloped beach with no hotels directly on the beach. There is a large public parking area and a few local restaurants next to the beach serving excellent seafood. Surin Beach has been a favorite among local expatriates which has made Phuket their home since the 1980s. The large Casuarinas lining up the beach gives excellent shade from the sun for anyone who feels they have had enough tan for a while.
It is dangerous to swim or do other water activities at Surin Beach from May to November. Surin Beach has a very steep sand shelf which makes it unsuitable and dangerous to swim during the monsoon season.
The
local wind surfing community as the waves and the winds creates
excellent conditions parts of the year. From November to early April,
bring your snorkel and head out for the southern part of the beach to
experience the underwater world.
